Coding errors

It has come to my attention that there are some coding errors with the ReCaptcha when you try to open a new account or send us an email through the Contact Us page.  Some times the error makes it impossible to do either while other times it just shows some html coding on the page.  If it just shows the html coding, you can go ahead and proceed as normal, nothing will be affected and your information is still safe.  If you get the error that doesn't allow you to do anything, please post a comment or send us a direct email at funkyfairyshoppe@gmail.com.


We are working to resolve this issue.

New look!

The store has a new look! And new items have just become available including my personal favorite: the Motherpeace Round Tarot Deck. Very cool!  (If you click the link, you'll be taken to Amazon where you can purchase the Motherpeace Round Tarot Deck, but of course it's also for sale on The Funky Fairy Shoppe!)

What do you all think of the new colors and background? I find it peaceful. I have my bestest best friend working on creating backgrounds as she's an artist of a most amazing sort, but I'm having trouble getting the backgrounds to mesh well as they're currently scanned images, not digital ones. Once I figure that out, you will be seeing her art as backgrounds. And of course once I can convince her that she really is amazing, I'll be putting her art up for sale on the site as well.

Last, but not least, we have a new fan page on Facebook. Special deals will be posted there only. But of course I won't leave out my blog followers; I'll be posting special deals just for you here.

On the homefront: We bought a house and have moved in and are mostly unpacked. Things we haven't seen in the 3 years we've been living in North Idaho are making their appearance. Going from a house to a small apartment meant we had quite a few things in storage. We have a garden started and have blueberry bushes, a strawberry patch, apple trees, serviceberry tree, hawthorn tree and a Japanese lilac tree. Oh, and I got a puppy - some pictures of the darling are on Facebook but I can put some here too if you all want. She's now 6 months old - a boxer/husky named Zoe.

Security Upgrades

Over this last week, I've added a new SSL Certificate and made some other changes that will ensure customer information while shopping & checking out is kept safe from hackers. I've also made some changes to the back office so hackers will have a VERY hard time to get into my private files to snag customer information. Any security feature available for the platform I'm using has been added & will be updated as new releases come out.

Next I plan on revamping the store's look and adding features to make shopping easier including a wish list that you can save for later. I will also be adding "how to" pages for customers to explain all the features available and how to use them.

Witchware Parties & Discount Codes

After much pulling of hair and begging of the Computer Gods, I finally have a page about Witchware Parties up. I've also managed to get the discount codes working. Next up is to make a Wishlist so customers can add things to their list without adding them to the shopping cart. But that's going to have to wait for another day.

I'm also starting to add Voodoo items and will be adding more clothing soon too.

php/MySQL adept needed!

I need some help with the store. I have some features I want to add but I need to add a mySQL database and do some simple coding. I've been learning php as I go since I opened the store. I have instructions and codes pre-written, I just need someone who knows php/mySQL and can put them in for me. Every time I do anything major like that, I crash the store and have to get my server provider to reinstall it for me from a back up. Hey, at least I'm smart enough to make a back up first.

So... is there anyone out there who's willing to help me out? Terms of payment can be discussed. I'll even trade for items from the store or incense or whatever. I just need this done and I know I'm not the person to do it.

New Fonts & Items!

It's a new year and what better way to kick things off than to change the look of the store? Don't worry, I didn't change that much. I changed the fonts and a few colors and hopefully made things easier to read. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I also added several new items and will continue to add new items every day this month. Well, every day that the kids aren't needing too much of my attention, anyway.

Color Change

Tonight I changed the colors of the webpage and uploaded the new logo that Karmen was kind enough to create for me. I still need to change some other colors of fonts and the side bars, but it's a start. I had to take my son to Lewiston today for his orthodonist appointment - it's the only place in a 500 mile radius that accepts the insurance we have - so I'm a little tired and don't want to do too much to the colors and fonts until I'm more awake. I'd probably end up with a disaster worse than what it is now.
